Tia & McGoo

Posted by Dave & Amanda

Taylor's favorite Auntie or Tia as we call her and her boyfriend Jordan or Big J came from San Francisco for a wonderful Memorial Day weekend visit. We had such a great time. Tay is still asking "where Tia?". Taylor definitely has his Tia wrapped around his little finger. He could probably get away with anything while Tia is around. We had a relaxing and fun filled few days together.

We enjoyed luch and beers at Stone Brewery....

with kisses....

and more kisses.

We enjoyed dinner in La Jolla and a night at The Comedy Store.

Then we had a lazy day by the pool and a delicious Dave Werth sushi dinner.

Finally, a stop off at Balboa Park before we had to say good-bye.

Thanks you Lauren and Jordan for spending the time with us. We love you both so much!

Boatin'

Posted by Dave & Amanda

It has been a little while since we posted something on our blog, due to the fact that swine flu ravaged our household(not really). In any case, this past weekend we were back into full swing with Grandpa Ter, and Grandma Suz in town(Dave's parents). We had a great visit with them, and we were also lucky enough to meet up with our good friends Lael, Heather, Misty, Chris, and Frank. To top it all off, Frank was nice enough to pick us up and take us out on his boat. This was Taylor's first ride in a boat, and when he got the chance to drive it....well....you can imagine how stoked he was.

Noni's Healing Hugs

Posted by Dave & Amanda

Last weekend my mom Toni or "Noni" as Taylor calls her, came for a visit.  Luckily we didn't have much planned because  Taylor got sick the same day that Noni flew into town.  He had a high fever and an achy little body that then turned into chest congestion.  Poor guy.  Noni was so great to have around because she snuggled T and gave him a lot of love to help him get well.  By the time she had to leave on Monday he was feeling much better and had her busy playing catcher while he pitched.

It was so nice to spend some good quality family time with my mom.  We did get a little shoe s
hopping in, thanks to Terry taking T for a few hours, but mostly we rested with Tay and watched endless hours of Sesame Street.

Thanks for such a wonderful visit Mom.
We love  you so much!  Happy Mother's Day!

Trains and Baseball

Posted by Dave & Amanda

Today was pretty much our perfect Sunday, and it was without a doubt, Taylor's perfect day. We met up in Solana Beach this morning with Kurt, Chris, and Ryan, where we jumped on the Coaster train to Santa Fe station downtown San Diego.

From there we jumped a trolley to Petco Park, stopping off to grab a few fish tacos and a beer at the Tin Fish, and then headed off to Petco to see the Padres take on the Pirates. Unfortunately the Padres couldn't pull it together for a win, but it was a beautiful Southern California day, that we got to spend with our good friends, and Taylor finally got to ride the train. Check out the pictures below from our big day!

Taylor's Radio Flyer Wagon

Posted by Dave & Amanda

Taylor's grandma (Noni) and great-grandma (Grammy) bought him this beautiful new Radio Flyer wagon for his 2nd birthday. He loves it!

He figured out how to climb into it in about 3 seconds, but still needs help getting out. He likes to take his animals for a ride around the backyard and ride in it to the nearby park.

Thanks Noni and Grammy!

Kelly's Visit

Posted by Dave & Amanda

Kelly was in town yesterday visiting from Washington DC. We have missed spending time with her since she moved there last Fall. So we were so excited to meet Kel for lunch downtown and then walk to The New Children's Museum. It was so fun! There are so many fun exhibits for kids of all ages. We tried to explore as many as we could, but didn't even get to the bottom floor of the museum. I guess we will have to save that for next time.

We all enjoyed blowing and popping bubbles, building a clay choo choo train, and building a huge fort with giant pillows. Building the fort was Taylor's favorite because he could climb up and then jump off into a giant bean bag. My favorite was the Port-a-Party. It was a porta potty that instead of a toilet inside, it had a wood dance floor, a disco ball and music playing inside. We partied it up on the Porta-a-Party for a few minutes. Tay didn't like it as much as me and Kel.

Taylor had a wonderful time playing with Kel and bossing her around, as he usually likes to do. Gee, I wonder where he gets his bossiness. Hhhhmmm? Anyway, we had a wonderful day and only wish that Kel was still here to play with us all the time. Thanks for the visit Kel!

Welcome to our blog!

Posted by Dave & Amanda

Hello Family and Friends,

Finally, I have accepted the fact that I am not the best communicator in the world. I realize that many of you would like to know how our little family is doing and see how quickly Taylor is growing up without having to harrasss me for a Skype date or a phone update every few months. Still I refuse to join the masses on Facebook, so here you go, my compromise. I hope you enjoy our blog. Please feel free to comment or make requests. Dave and I have vowed to keep this blog updated as often as possible.

We have had the most wonderful weekend so far. The past 2 days have been back to our typical San Diego paradise. Yesterday was gorgeous! The temp was about 75 degrees. We started off our day by watering the yard. Dave is expanding his garden. In adddition to his citrus trees, which he recently transplanted to the other side of the house where the soil is better, he has two new tomato plants and a basil plant. Yum! Taylor then spent the morning running around the yard in his pajamas with his Mickey Mouse helmet on. He has been practicing riding his tricycle. I can't tell if he hasn't figured out how to peddle or if he is just faking it so that we will push him. I am pretty sure he fakes it sometimes because I have seen him peddle quite well on occassion.

The rest of our day was spent playing in the sand at the beach. We went to the Marine Street beach in La Jolla, just down the street from my first apartment in San Diego. On our way out, we saw at least 10 open house signs. So of course we spent the ride home figuring out when we will be able to some day afford a million dollar shoe box of a house by the beach in La Jolla. Never the less, it was so nice to come home to Scripps Ranch and enjoy the warm evening and the view of our back canyon.

This morning is more beautiful than yesterday. It's only 9:30am and it's already at least 80 degrees! I have a feeling we will again enjoy another relaxing day in the yard. Hopefully I will get to work on my base tan too!

Lots of love,
Amanda

P.S. No, Dave did not pose with some random bum on the beach. Those are my lovely hobbit feet, so don't be scared.
